Valley Adult School’s Adult Basic Education (ABE) class provides assistance to students preparing for the GED test or working towards a high school diploma, but requiring extra help in math, grammar, or reading. We also offer help for students attempting to pass the California High School Exit Exam (CAHSEE), or for those just wanting to brush up on their basic math, grammar, or reading skills.
The ABE program is an open-ended, independent study class with some direct instruction. The class work and homework are individualized to each student’s needs and schedule. The class consists of a combination of instructor-led lessons, individualized computer-assisted learning, and homework.

NEW STUDENT & RETURNING Registration for GED & HiSET (Must Bring ID or Birth Certificate). A High School Diploma requires the transcripts from the last school attended unless you are coming from the same district.
Returning students' registrations are open from August 11, 2025, until May New Student registration is on August 18, 2025
All students must fill out a registration form to enroll and take the assessment test. All NEW students MUST complete the assessment test before they can attend the class.
